Hike through the calanques
The closest calanques to the hotel are Sormiou and Morgiou (see our “Around the 96” section for hiking ideas).
We also recommend Sugiton and Marseilleveyre, and near Cassis: Port Pin and En-Vau.
Access to Sugiton is now regulated in summer—you must register online, and daily visitor numbers are limited.
In general, we suggest hiking early in the morning, especially on weekends. The views are even more beautiful and the trails less crowded.
For those interested in learning about local flora, we recommend guided walks with Philippe, an exceptional naturalist guide.
Lunch at Chez le Belge
At the calanque of Marseilleveyre, you can enjoy lunch at Chez le Belge! This quirky, off-the-grid restaurant has no electricity or running water and serves just a few simple dishes. A timeless spot where meals are rustic and unhurried.
Have a drink at 20,000 Lieues sous la Bière
After hiking to Marseilleveyre or finishing a section of the GR near Callelongue, we highly recommend a stop at 20,000 Lieues sous la Bière—a great place to enjoy a local beer with a warm ambiance and stunning sunsets.
Explore the calanques by sea (eco-friendly transport)
Prefer the sea over hiking? Explore the calanques by kayak! Providers like Destination Calanques and Raskas Kayak offer unforgettable half- or full-day excursions.
For catamaran trips, check out Bleu Evasion.
Enjoy water activities on the coast
The Yachting Club de la Pointe Rouge offers sailing, windsurfing, hobie cat, and kitesurf lessons and trips.
You can also go diving with Dune Plongée, based at the Pointe Rouge port.
